A warning has been issued to those selling cigarettes and alcohol in Alanya

Addiction, one of the greatest dangers of our time, is being tackled through both police measures and discussions on solutions with all stakeholders.

The Alanya District Coordination Meeting on the Struggle Against Addiction was held under the chairmanship of Alanya District Governor Dr. Fatih Ürkmezer. The meeting took place at the Youth Center, with the participation of institution directors and NGO representatives. During the meeting, the District Health Directorate presented a report on the work being done by institutions in the district to combat addiction.

Alanya District Governor Dr. Fatih Ürkmezer issued a warning to traders selling cigarettes and alcohol to minors. He stated, "In cases of such violations, we apply both closure and heavy fines. Our teams continue inspections without interruption. Protecting our youth from harmful habits and supporting them within the framework of the law is our most important duty. It is vital for our traders and citizens to comply with the rules."

Governor Ürkmezer also emphasized that association activities are now being monitored by security forces according to the law. He pointed out that in case of violations by associations, there is no chance of avoiding penalties.

Speaking at the Alanya Addiction Coordination Meeting, Governor Ürkmezer also highlighted the importance of protecting youth and raising public awareness on this issue. "We all have great responsibilities in the fight against addiction. Inspections and penalties will continue to be applied with this goal in mind," he said. The meeting also discussed the current status of abandoned buildings and evaluated the work that needs to be done.
