It threatens exports in Antalya and Alanya: this proposal will solve the problem

In recent years, there has been a significant decrease in pesticide levels in vegetables and fruits exported from the Western Mediterranean, particularly from Antalya and Alanya. Exporters emphasize that inspections need to start in the fields and greenhouses to address the issues related to the return of products.

One of the main complaints of exporters is that the residue issue is only detected during checks conducted at the time of shipment. Experts suggest that the source of the problem should be addressed, recommending that inspections begin in production areas. Exporters note that the return of finished products leads to both additional costs and damage to their reputation.

ARBITRARY CUSTOMS PRACTICES AND RESIDUE ISSUES

Among the reasons for the return of exported products, arbitrary customs practices, especially at customs in Bulgaria, stand out. Additionally, high pesticide levels in certain products also cause problems. However, thanks to recent efforts, there has been a significant reduction in the number of returned products.

RETURNED PRODUCTS ARE NOT SOLD ON THE DOMESTIC MARKET

Exporters point out that returned products cannot be sold in the domestic market. These products are either destroyed or disposed of in other ways to prevent additional costs and avoid any threat to public health.
